Today the Prime Minister announced the appointment of the new Secretary for Finance and Deregulation, David Tune PSM.
"I look forward to working with Mr Tune on the Government’s busy reform agenda and welcome him to the portfolio,” Special Minister of State, Senator Ludwig, said.
"Mr Tune is highly regarded in the Australian Public Service with over 30 years experience.”
The announcement follows the appointment of former Secretary, Dr Ian Watt AO, to the Secretary of the Department of Defence.
"I would like to congratulate Dr Watt on his appointment and extend my sincere thanks for his assistance during my time as Special Minister of State,” Senator Ludwig said.
"I am confident of Dr Watt’s success at the Department of Defence and wish him well for the future.”
Public Service Commissioner, Lynelle Briggs, has also accepted a new position as Medicare Australia’s Chief Executive Officer.
Deputy Public Service Commissioner, Carmel McGregor, will act in Ms Briggs place.
"I would like to commend Ms Briggs for five years of dedicated service to the Public Service Commission,” Senator Ludwig said.
"In her time with the Commission, Lynelle has demonstrated consistent drive for cultural change within the public service, including through the establishment of the Ethics Advisory Service.”
"She has been committed to her role in preparing the public service to meet the new challenges of the future and I wish her all the best in continuing this endeavour at Medicare Australia.”
